A honeymoon couple, Mr. and Mrs. Daisuke Kajiwara of Oita Prefecture, visited Kenyu Kai Dojo on Friday, August 9th and practiced with us. I felt so sorry that they had to do kendo during Honeymoon trip to Hawaii. I thought that Kaida Akira Sensei ordered them to practice. No, they wanted to experience kendo in Hawaii voluntarily. Both of them are 5 Dan and Mr. Kajiwawa was 2 consecutive year Champion of Japan Teachers’ tournament. No wonder, they were so good. Lots of happiness to them.

On August 3rd Mr. Tony Galvez from Las Vegas came and practiced with us. He had been plagued with injuries and thought about quitting kendo all together. He said that Wahiawa Kendo Club Bulletin every month he received prevented him to quit and kept on practicing with pains or disabilities. Kendo (exercises) will frequently make your physical condition better. Do not crushed by your pains and aches. Continue to practice with your limitations and disabilities. Our club slogan, “Kendo will make it better,” will certainly happen to you.
